General Automobile and Employee Liability Charges (GAEL)
As previously announced by Accounting, the campus is now responsible for its claims and expenses against the University's General, Automobile & Employee Liability self-insurance program. Effective with the January 1998 ledgers an assessment is being made as a financial journal entry charged to Sub 3 and identified with a description "GAEL Liability Assessment."
When preparing budgets to private and other non-federal agencies, budget $0.38 per $100 of wages. This amount should be listed in the "Other Expenses" category of the budget and identified as a "General, Automobile & Employee Liability insurance" cost.
